Street Performance on Stills

by and with

Longart, is a form of art that lengthens the body without altering its proportions. Hence the idea of the costumes and the characters of this show and of the show itself. The characters have naïve or dazed facial expressions, they are polyphormic or type-tested beings. They reproduce today’s world and its rituals without intention. They wander, sometimes by themselves, dancing free in the search for an identity, sometimes together, ravished by the music, like unaware or sarcastic robots. Longart is a show made of colours and images, of dances and energy, of poems and collective outbursts, until everything is given free play in a exhilarating cancan. The time of images and colours is now over. The performance focuses on styles and techniques to show the audience the essentials of bodies and movements.

Along the lines of a theatre evolving into a dance and a street performance looking at and imitating the circus, interwoven bodies and stilts turn the dance into astonishing feats of acrobatic virtuosity. A tango emerges from the background: movements soaked in memories and lyrics re-discover sensuality and the desire to reach the audience.
